Lily’s senior session was such a fun summer evening at Mequon Nature Preserve. We took advantage of the wildflowers, trails and beautiful late-afternoon light to create a mix of relaxed portraits throughout the preserve.

One of the things I love about senior sessions is giving each senior plenty of variety without making the session feel overly posed. We moved around the preserve, changed outfits and used everything from the wooden boardwalk and wildflowers to the open fields as backdrops.

The golden light toward the end of Lily’s session was especially beautiful and made the field portraits some of my favorites from the evening.

Senior Photos at Mequon Nature Preserve

Mequon Nature Preserve is a great location for senior photography in the Milwaukee area, especially during the summer and early fall. There is plenty of variety within a relatively small area, which means we can create several different looks without spending the session driving between locations.

Depending on the season, you’ll find:

• Wildflowers and tall grasses
• Open fields
• Wooded trails
• Wooden boardwalks
• Soft, natural backgrounds
• Beautiful evening light

It’s a particularly good fit for seniors who want their photos to feel natural and relaxed while still having plenty of variety in their final gallery.
